I'm looking for a basic, reliable GPS for whiteout situations - I'm obviously considering the eTrex but wondering about the eTrex 10 versus the eTrex H.

Just adding to this post (which has been archived): http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?t=490333&v=1#x6716796 I noticed that there is a serious weight difference between the two models. 150g for the eTrex H and 365g for the eTrex 10! This seems huge for what appear to be similar devices.

It's enough to make me go for the older model (H) despite it being no cheaper than the new model on Amazon. Any thoughts?

In reply to James FR:

As always, depends exactly what you want and how you'll use it. I've used both old eTrex Summit, Geko 201 and now eTrex 30. The 30 obviously has a lot more features, but many of them I never use. It's more sensitive, has a better compass and better display. Battery life also seems better. But if you really need to use it with gloves on, the older body eTrex is best - the buttons are further apart.
