gel insoles

hi i have started to develop sore heels when walking short distances,tried all sorts boots but to no avail,has anyone tried these gel insoles,do they last even when walking 40 miles daily,what makes do recomend.regards

Sorbothane insoles work for me in running shoes, but supafeet insoles do it for me in walking boots. Not gel, but they place your foot in the optimum position.

Another vote for Supafeet. Had em 10 years + (different pairs) really comfortable.

In reply to UKC Forums: I went one further and got orthotics made which are basically custom made insoles. They look at how you walk, your foot alignment, leg length etc...then take casts of your feet. You then receive the insoles which have helped me with an ankle problem due a break yr ago. Cost around £160 but I'd recommend them. worth asking others or checkinng out running forum:0

I get sore feet - not heels but the bits of my feet under my toes (balls?). I got some sorbathane insoles off the internet. They don't seem to have helped much though!
Apparently you have to go and see one of those v expensive podiatrist people.

supafeet get my vote too, but what ever orthotic footbed you use it will highten your foot in the shoe so can alter the feel of what ever you wear - what socks are you using it makes a huge difference, i've found it's worth shelling out for some of the branded ones
