A few of you may know that I have some back pain from muscle knots in my back. I've also got some exquisitely painful knots in one of my calves. All this can and is relieved a trip to my physio but at £34 a pop, it is just as painful to my wallet as relieving to my body.

Upshot is that last time I saw my physio he suggested that I buy a Homedics massage sticky thing.

Yesterday I went down to Argos to purchase one. I could have saved a few quid on other sites but I would have had to wait for it to be delivered and I needed it asap.

I have to say that this little vibrating wonder is not a gimmick and really does break down any persistent or longstanding muscle tightness. It does look cumbersome but its ergonomics allows you to reach everywhere on your body, especially those hard to reach places on your back.

The device comes in at the price of one visit to a physio and in my humble opinion, if you do use a physio for muscle problems or you want to massage sports injuries or recover from a hard day's exercise then you won't be disappointed.

I may also be biased towards Homedics kit as I own several bits of their kit which all work very well.

In reply to The Lemming: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGIBHcREljk. My osteopath charges £45 for 20mins. He's very good and recommended self massage with tennis balls on a range of muscle groups. He also suggested a foam roller so I got one from TK Maxx for £12. There are loads of vid's on You Tube, some better than others. Certainly works to loosen up my hamstrings, gluts and IT band. ( I also have some Homedics stuff and found them to be very good.)
