In reply to UKC Gear: Missed this news but just purchased this pack having seen it in a local store. Didn't even know montane were making packs and am VERY impressed with this one. Simple but cleverly designed, light weight and a good price (£73) I think.

I have tried many, many packs from Berghaus Arrette to Deuter Guide and Osprey Mutant but as soon as I picked this pack up I was sold on it.

Ity fits well, doesn't get in the way of a helmet, is nice and slim for scrambling and is perfect for me

Looking forward to using it on the hills but expect that the monatne quality will be the same as their clothing so there should be no worries.

Heres hoping the do a 70l pack in the near future

In reply to Martin1978: Quick update.

Used this pack today when scrambling up Pinnacle Ridge. Cracking pack, VERY slim, didn't even notice I had it on. Doesn't move about so doesn't affect balance and it doesn't get in the way when looking up, even with a helmet on. A perfect scrambling pack in my opinion. As I say, very narrow so never once did I feel it rub or snag anywhere. Wand pockets secured poles all day and the lid is very useful size for lunch/hat/gloves etc.

The drawcord closure system is brilliant even with gloves on, so simple to open and close I don't knwo why more packs don't use it! Comfortably held my 3 litre camel-bak as well. Plenty of room in the pack for lunch box, waterproofs, insulated jacket, helmet, first aid kit, flask, shelter and more. My mate thinks is a tardis and it does seem to hold a lot of kit for a small pack.

Very pleased with it. Comfortable all day and I didn't sweat as much as I normally do on my back.

So Montane...when are you bringing out a 70 litre pack for multi-day winter trips?!?!?! I'll happily be a product tester for you!
