Having read and absorbed Dan's great review of the Habitude 6P (https://www.ukclimbing.com/gear/camping/tents+bivvys/msr_habitude_6_tent-12... we bought the 4P (we plan to return to canoe expeditioning in Scotland and I figured the smaller footprint would better ensure that we could find a patch of ground to put it on). Based on Dan's article I was prepared for the lack of a full set of guy ropes and pegs (it even comes with 2 few pegs for the guying points provided!) but I was surprised to find that it was missing the LED porch light.

This isn't a showstopper but rather surprising given the emphasis given to the porch light in all of MSR's blurb for this tent. The retailer confirmed that neither the 4P or 6P came provided with it. MSR's website doesn't list it as an accessory so can't be bought aftermarket either. So what has happened? Have MSR discovered a problem with it and chosen to pull it altogether? I'd love to know. I've reached out to MSR but not received a response yet.

The thing that really bothers me is that an expensive tent like this which is tall and so particularly sensitive to med-high winds should come without a full set of guys and pegs! What are they thinking? They supply only 2 of a possible 6 upper, longer guy lines but with no pegs to use with them. I just don't know how they think this type of penny pinching is acceptable at this price?

Otherwise our first impressions are extremely positive and we can't wait to get out and start using it.

In reply to nnnoodle:

Check the MSR website and click on the small images of the tent without the fly attached and in the top left hand corner   * light not available on European models

It's well hidden....

Thank you! That solves one of the issues. I wonder what prevents them from doing so? Shame they can't even be bought aftermarket.

I have contacted Trekitt, who supplied our tent, asking that they change the images used for the ones with the message intended for the European market.

Many thanks,

Nick
