Hi all,

is OEX Go Outdoor’s own brand? Anyone have experience of it? I was looking at an OEX pack today and was wondering about the quality of it.

Its one of over a dozen Go Outdoors own brands, and sits at the top end of their price structure. Like anything, it all depends on the design and quality control of each item, but OEX generally looks perfectly comparable to other items around that price point or just above.

Surely you should be able to judge the quality in person? Stitches, material, construction, etc. should be obvious to inspect. 

The brand itself doesn’t mean much. I wouldn’t be surprised if different types of goods are made in different factories and consequentially up to different standards. Even well regarded brands do have their mess ups. I received Alpkit gaiters with plastic tabs pierced through the waterproof material (4 tiny holes in total) and had a drawcord failure on two Mountain Equipment garments (gaiters and a £300+ jacket) in less than a year.
