Hi folks,

Anyone with experience of using the Salewa mountain trainer or mountain trainer lite?

Just looking for some general feedback, fit, performance etc.

I tried the mountain trainer, but thought it a very good robust shoe, but too baggy in the heal (I have narrow feet and a low volume heel I think -- I could literally slip it off fully laced), so it went back. 

I thought the fit was very small and narrow. I went 1.5 sizes bigger than usual and wish I'd gone bigger. 

They are a great option for a tough shoe which can go in a rucksack.

I found the fit on the forefoot to be perfect for me but unfortunately got quite a bit of heel-lift which spoilt them.

Good supportive, grippy soles which are excellent for scrambling but quite hard underfoot which gets tiring after a long day in the hills.

If they fitted my heels better, I’d have bought another pair and swapped to cushy insoles.
