I'm in need of a warm hoodie for some serious mooching around the house or taking my highly trained Patterdale around the block.

I'd preferably like the hood to be fluffy inside.

Just let yourself go and get a onesie!

My other half has a blue penguin onesie.

But I want to keep a sense of manliness while walking my dog.

Fleece-lined checked shirt with a hood? I have one by a well known brand and another which was dirt cheap on an auction site. Their quality seems unrelated to their price. “Manly” is quite subjective but you could always accessorise with a handlebar moustache for the cowboy / hipster look.

With a large, bulbous, studded codpiece ... nice!

Mountain Equipment 'Dark Days'?

Pile lined hoodie, I think.

I don't think they make them anymore. I've got one of them, it's confusing but not that cosy. I think ME still make the Touchstone which is heavier and warmer but my suggestion to OP would be the Moreno Hooded. Lovely warm and fluffy.

I just wear a normal hoodie (mainly Animal one) with a thin fleece underneath.

In reply to The Lemming:

The Buffalo Mountain Shirt is pile fibre lined and has a seriously fluffy hood available

That’s a darks vision of social inequality, and the consequences of a low fibre diet and straining.

In reply to The Lemming:

sounds like you need a vintage patagucci pile fleece for 200 quid

Now I do like the look of the jacket and material, especially the heavy pile. But the price tag is scary.

I love my classic heavy pile RAB fleece. Wonder if they do something similar with a hood?

Ahhh bugger. I got an Alpkit hoodie before I saw this.

Shan't cry over spilt milk, as I've yet to make a poor purchase decision with Alpkit.

I came very close to becoming a lumberjack. 😀

Just before Christmas I bought the Outdoor Research Alti Horns Hoody, on sale but still a bit more than I would normally pay but worth every penny.

  • Woolly inside
  • Good fit
  • Properly elasticated cuffs so you can wash the dishes (for some reason I always struggle to find this)
  • Mix of organic cotton and recycled polyester
  • Logo, but neither idiotic of too obtrusive (to my mind anyway)

Obviously if you do get one let me know which walls/crags you frequent in case we need to coordinate. Don't you just find it sooo embarrassing when you've got yourself all dolled up in your best hoody only to find someone else turns up wearing the same one.

Just Googled that, cheapest price £62.99, some places selling for over £80.  Ouch...I'd want it gold plated for that money!

44.98€ here now, although I admit I paid 59€

Ah, that (the former) is a bit more reasonable...Brexit tax?
