Hey guys, I have been looking for a helmet for a few weeks now and have just found the skywalker 2 helmet from Mammut. I just wanted to find out if you have you what you like and don't like about the helmet. It would be also good if you could give suggestions on other helmets that can be used for alpine climbing, rock climbing and ice climbing.

Thanks for taking the time to read and it would be great to hear your opinion!

skywalkers are made of papier mache and cat vomit and dissolve in the rain.

just messin. hi alex.

appear to be good tho ive never worn one. the giri boys wear them and they seem to survive a lot rockfall. not sure thats good or bad.

personally i like the grivel salamander because its low profile and looks like something outta tron.
also, the bungy headlamp retainers are much easier with gloves/frozen hands.
be wary of the grivel airtech - fabulous helmet but the lamp retainers still puzzle me (im scared to admit i dont know how they work). nice and light and close, and doubles as my cycling helmet, but for rocky stuff i still like a hard shell.

all depends whats comfy, so you can wear it all the time. afterall its protecting your brain and without that you cant do a lot with the other shiny gear you own.

hint: take your jackets (shell and belay) along when youre shopping so you can make sure it all fits.

I have one -- bought it because it was the one in the shop that fit me the best.

I Like:
- Comfort (for me at least)
- Relatively low weight
- Styling is OK

I don't like:
- Sits a bit high on the head when wearing beanie
- Weight (should I have got a Meteor instead!!!??)
- Made in China
