Sometimes a quickie is all we've got time and energy for, but that doesn't necessarily mean compromising on getting in a proper summit. With a high start at the ski centre, and a well-made path most of the way, this short circuit on Cairn Gorm must be the fastest and easiest route to any 4000-foot summit in Scotland. Despite all the ski infrastructure, it still manages to feel like a worthwhile hill walk. And it's a good one for novices, families, and mixed ability groups.
