Short on love, but big on views, Carnedd Cribau offers the opportunity to get away from it all while still being in the thick of mountain scenery from the top drawer. Cheek by jowl with Moel Siabod's long western ridge, there is no better place from which to study Cwm Dyli and the celebrated Snowdon Horseshoe. Nant Gwynant and its enchanting llyn are also seen to great advantage, and the quiet upper reaches of the valley are visited on the final leg of the day. An inauspicious start is short lived and gives way to a rewarding walk with a pioneering feel where surprises lurk around every corner.

In reply to Nicholas Livesey:

Nice walk Nick. The ascent of Moel Siabod from PyG covers some of the initial ground I think.

In reply to Chris_Mellor:

Hi Chris.

Yes, it does indeed.

I quite enjoy getting on the bus to the Pen y Gwryd and then walking home over Siabod. It makes a change going down the Daear Ddu rather than up it!
