Fantastic result!

It should have never had needed to come to this but I am grateful to those who have fought hard to maintain these freedoms.

I hope this has made some minor dent in Darwall's wealth.

The Guardian specifically mentions rock climbing being allowed as well, which is nice for us here on UKC!

Will this have any impact on access to Vixen Tor?

Sorry, no idea. I don't know the geography very well. In fact it must being nearly 30 years since I last climbed down there.

Locals - anyone know?

I can't see that it will sadly.  That started as a CROW Act issue and then into a ROW enquiry. That was determined in favour of the landowner and the matter hasn't moved from that for years.

Hope the disposable barbecue, disposable toilet waste, fly tippers don't feel they have the go ahead. Wild camping is bedding down in the heather out of sight of the modern world, not pulling your van off the road, emptying your toilet and setting fire to the moor. I doubt fly campers even know there's an issue though.

Thats always been the real issue. Wild camping...out of sight and leaving no trace is not the issue. The idiots turning up with a family frame tent, digging fire pits and leaving mess everywhere are the problem.

This case would only ever have affected the legitimate responsible wild campers not the mess leaving fly campers.
