Hi all, I've was off to El Chorro climbing on the 18th September with my son, now through illness he can no longer go. So my question is if I was to go alone (have already payed for flight but not accommodation which is through booking.com and cancelable) is there any hiking that is easily accessed from the village of El Chorro itself or would I need to hire a car to get to the start of any available hikes. There are a few people looking for climbing partners on Facebook but only for about half of the days I'm there. If I have to hire a car and pay for accommodation by myself it would be cheaper to go elsewhere, but if you can get to good day hikes from el chorro itself without hiring a car I think I may risk going alone. Cheers for your advice in advance.

It is pretty easy to find climbing parters there at the hostels in winter/spring. Is it not roasting hot there now though?

In reply to Russell Lovett:

It probably is hot. I wanted was booked early this year was wanting to go late oct early Nov, but son who is now not going wanted Sept so now I'm stuck going in spt and he dropped me in it by leaving it right till now to tell me he,s not going. £425 to change flight dates, so it's sep 18th and hope for the best. Have just booked chalet at Olive Branch so if nothing else it's going to be a adventure.
