I'm off to Norway in the summer and will be staying on the east side of the Jotunheimen national park. I suspect I am the wrong side really but does anyone know of any walking routes that will get me up to the glaciers and back in a day? Just trying to avoid a drive around to the other side really.

Further to this can anyone point me to any guides, paper or online, of walks in the eastern area? ideally in English although if online I guess I could translate them. Cheers

Where on the east?  It's a big place

Russtangen-> Russvatnet to Blåbrean , but I think that will be a long day

Not far from Fagernes for some of the time. Roughly on the E16/51 junction.

May move a bit.

A bit quirky- has its own grading system, for example, but I’m not aware of anything else in English. In Norwegian there’s a set of coffee table books that are nice for planning/daydreaming:

Looks like this route from Valdresflye would get you to a glacier. https://ut.no/turforslag/1111726487/vestre-kalvehgde
