I see the Helvellyn Fell Top assessor said "Amazing weather on the tops today with cloud inversions putting on a great show!" It looked quite low to me, sub 700m

I was at 676m in the Howgills and failed to break the inversion.

Can anyone who was in the Lakes today tell me the inversion level?

This was looking south from the summit of Helvellyn today at about 1100. Cofa Pike (820m) is the prominent top left of centre with Fairfield (873m) just hidden by the cloud surging over it. To the north of Helvellyn almost everything was clear as were the north western fells around Buttermere. The cloud began to drop into the valleys shortly after I took this although the wind got up a bit and the fells began to create new cloud until it began to burn away early afternoon.

Thanks.

I went up Langdale to capture the sunrise but never saw anything and it didn't look like it would clear. I went over Pike O Blisco and the Crinkles - so up to 880m.

There was a photo but it seems to have disappeared!

The south western Lake District seemed to have a deeper layer of cloud over it than the north east. What looked like Ill Crags (Scafells) appeared at times but almost everything else in the south west remained hidden.
