Last time I drove up the a5 I saw a sign for Llyn Ogwen park and ride in Bethesda which is a great idea seeing the problems there parking these days.

I can’t find any information online about the service, timetables etc.

Does anyone have info or a link about it please?

As far as I remember, there is a small car park on the A5 in Bethesda near the bus stop. The bus runs roughly once an hour.

Ah so normal bus timetable betws to Bangor I presume.

In reply to Phil Lyon:

Just jumping on this - does anyone happen to know the likelihood of getting a space later in the day? I'm guessing slim? Taking a mate to N Wales in August for his first time but early starts aren't possible.

In reply to Queen of the Traverse:

If you mean parking in ogwen, I'd say zero. Usually all the spaces, 'spaces', extremely creative spaces, and even the 'definitely not a space's are gone by 9.30.

Can't speak for the P&R but if you use that check what time the last bus is. Usually, in summer, the answer is far too early. Edit: looks like it's 19:25

No I mean the park and ride - I know the valley will be none!

Very unlikely. Last time I was in Ogwen I got the very last spot at 8am. Almost every other spot was taken by a campervan

Just been up Tryfan today. Parking at that end was pretty full first thing but plenty of parking when we got back at about 3:00 pm. Lots of climbers on the east face despite the showers, some heavy. Thunderstorms about now so hope they are all OK.... as I write this, it's just started lashing it down in Llanberis.

The bus service round Snowdonia generally works pretty well. Depending on where you are staying, you may be able to get a bus to Idwal Cottage or wherever.

Also, the bus from Llanberis to Pen-y-pass will drop you at the Cromlech boulders.

In reply to Pero:

You often have to change busses. I'd love to see some circular buses that loop round major tourist spots. The Llanberis service up the pass is very good.

In reply to Pero:

Thanks. Yeah, I think we'll be more reliant on where we can get accommodation which is unlikely to be on a good route. But cheers anyway. Was just curious. Personally I would very happily start my day at 3pm
