Just flagging up another proposed phone mast under the Shared Rural Network proposals.  This one is on the remote Rubh' an Dùnain peninsula at Glen Brittle Skye accessed from the Glen Brittle campsite.  It is out near the Viking canal and harbour.

Planning ref 24/03297/FUL on the Highland Council website  https://wam.highland.gov.uk/wam/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=dates&k...

I know phone reception is poor in Glen Brittle, but there is another mast proposed near the Youth Hostel that should address that.  The Rubh' an Dùnain mast is, in my opinion, unnecessary.

I agree. This seems completely unnecessary and would be a thoroughly unwelcome intrusion on the landscape. It is also the case that there is mobile reception on the other side of the peninsula, at the hill fort above Loch na h-Airde - I posted a photograph to Facebook last time I was there three years ago.

Thanks. SRN - It's all so unnecessary.

perhaps it is an evil plot to banish the use of cash from Glenbrittle

Good location to improve coverage across sea towards Canna, which will be appreciated by various folk including those on Mallaig-Lochboisdale ferry.
