A tiddler by local standards, Rannerdale Knotts nevertheless offers a grand view out of all proportion to its modest altitude. This endearing little peak has a mountain character, with a 1km ridge crest that's as fun as many a fell twice its height. Packing a scenic punch, this short round is well suited to families and groups of mixed ability. Note that in spring the alternative ascent via Rannerdale (not described here) might be better if you want to see the famous bluebells.
