Recently moved to Scotland and not overly familiar with the non-winter routes up here. Any recommendations for a long grade 2-3 scramble on Highland rather than Nevis/Glen Coe kinda way?

Fiacaill Ridge (II)It is so long ago since I did it but it sprung to mind.  This website has a list of scrambles in Scotland, the Lakes and Wales Grades 1 and 2.

An Groban has some cracking routes, humpback buttress is excellent and right hand slab is just as good both grade 2

Afterthought Arete (M) on stag rocks is a good length but is a mod

North east ridge on angels peak is good too

Garbh Bheinn might be nice

2nd An Groban. Thought right hand slabs were excellent. Starts and finishes at a pub too.

Anything up in Torridon. Ben Alligin is a good shout but Dan Baileys Scotland's Mountain Ridges is a good ticklist book to get you started.

Weather looks good for Saturday. So depends on where you are and how far you wish to travel for a day.

If you can  include Skye then huge choice, classics would include Dubhs Ridge, Clach Glas - Blavern traverse and a pinnacle ridge.  These are all orders of magnitude better than anything on the main land for length, quality and situation. But these are stretching the upper end of scrambling…..

Left field ideas;

If staying on the main land and possibly a shorter drive Long Stroll Slab, N ridge, Black Carls combination on Benn Eighe.

Or longer drive to Far North you have Gannu slabs on Fionaven, or Bells Route on Ben Hope

I wasn't quite clear - did you mean not in Lochaber? If so, then the NW clearly has loads of options. Some obvious choices (obvious because brilliant):

Traverse of Liathach https://www.ukhillwalking.com/articles/destinations/classic_scramble_-_liat...

Linking up a few routes on Beinn Eighe https://www.ukhillwalking.com/articles/destinations/classic_scramble_-_a_be...

An Teallach https://www.ukhillwalking.com/articles/destinations/classic_scramble_-_an_t...

Forcan Ridge https://www.ukhillwalking.com/articles/destinations/classic_scramble_-_the_...

If you've not done them then you may as well start with these classics.

The recommendation of An Groban (Gairloch) is a great call, the main named scrambles are fantastic and there's scope to link up bits of rock all over the hill for a very good value few hours out. But it is a small hill by Scottish standards, not one of the big mountain days that I assume you're after.

I'd suggest buying the SMC scrambling guide to the north highlands (Highlands South and Skye volumes are also in production)

I would also recommend Fiacail ridge in the Northern Cairngorms.  Great views into the corries either side, access to the Cairngorm plateau, straightforward route finding, great fun.

I had a cracking day out on Buachaille Etive Mor a couple of weeks ago doing Broad Buttress. There's loads to choose from in the 2-3 grade range around there and the views are outstanding.
