Any recommendations for spectacular but easy walk/scrambles around Grindelwald please?

In reply to Fredt:

Short klettersteig to the Schwarzhorn summit in the range to the north. Very short scrambly opportunities on the descent / alternatively normal way up the peak.

Worthwhile scrambles on the limestone in this part of the world are hard to come by.

The ridge north of the Brienzer See has a couple of narrow grassy sections.

Browse the hikr website for things in the T3 to T5 range. T6 if you're feeling brave.

Schwarzhorn Via Ferrata (VF3B)

Schynigge-Platte to First is a straightforward but very spectacular walk  timed at about 6 hrs with amazing views of the Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn, Eiger towards the end.

From Meiringen you can walk up to the Reichenbach Falls where Moriarty and Holmes fought and fell and from then up to Rosenlaui and Grosse Scheidegg, quite a lot of ascent but you can use the post bus to shorten it

There is also a Sherlock Holmes Museum in Meiringen

From Lauterbrunnen you can get to Murren and then walk up the Schilthorn which can be a tiny bit scrambly as you approach Blofeld's Piz Gloria, but look out for henchmen in orange jackets and black trousers.

And the klettersteig already mentioned.  Have done Schwarzhorn which was straight forward but not the Rotstock though I went up the glaciated slabs to it from the Eigergletscher side. (below the W Flank)

Thanks all. Yesterday I planned to do the Rotstock via ferrata, but heavy snow on Saturday night made that impossible.

So I caught the train to Alpiglen and hiked to Kleine Scheidigg and back.

Not a cloud in the sky, up close to the Eiger, and stunning views of the snow plastered Wetterhorn. Thanks for the idea.

Fred
