I can see snow on the Trotternish ridge on Skye this morning. Only 4C in Gairloch and 2C  with the windchill.Torridon hills cloud shrouded at the moment but am expecting to see snow above 600 metres

The Ben More webcam at Crianlarich is showing snow down to 700m-ish just now:

PS - In terms of spring conditions, I saw a couple of wheatears on the Ochils on Saturday.

Hi Dave .Dusting showing on the Meall a Bhuiridh webcam as well. Looking like more snow showers on the tops in the North west this week ,certainly up to and through the Easter weekend

Hope you're well. Think the conditions are probably quite general - I can see Stuc/Vorlich from the house here when it's clear (cloud just now) and there could well be snow on them at the same kind of level. The Ochils are clear - I can see the very top bit of the Law at 630m and that doesn't appear to have snow.

Looks like quite a messy/mixed week generally. I won't manage much - tied up with various things including a visit from the old TAC cartoonist Chris Tyler, first time we'll have seen each other in over a decade! Certainly a  change in the weather - Cruach Ardrain the other day felt like summer.

In reply to Dave Hewitt:

I think the maddest temperature variation last week was in Aboyne . Going from -3 night to +22 daytime.

My hills/chess pal Bill Cook used to live in Kingussie (a useful base), and has a story from 20-odd years ago of Aviemore being both the coldest and warmest place in the UK within about 15 hours - similar to the Aboyne situation you describe.

Of course! It's time for my annual 14 hour drive from the Midlands to the NW Highlands so will inevitably coincide with rubbish weather, or as MWIS currently has it 'a highly complex weather situation'. I'd planned a trip to Knoydart this weekend, I might just go and chance it anyway.

If it's any consolation, last week was amazing.

One year I'll time it so the one week of good weather is the one I'm there, I'm just playing the odds!

We live in the Highlands and had last week free to climb. We were literally ready to go anywhere between Caithness and Wales but it just so happened it was good here.

Beautiful weather today after a cloudy start. I was on the Corbetts behind Beinn Eighe today.A bit of snow above 700 metres. It was dry and sunny and I got sunburnt..The weather outlook for the next week or so in the North west is not  too bad.
