Hi. How long is the trip over and how long including queuing and boarding when taking a car? Is it quicker than the road as I can foresee time lost while waiting for the ferry etc. Ta.

Taken it a couple of times. Quick and very little queuing time. Middle of the day midweek both times

When I lived in Greenock there were 2 choices. Western Ferries and Calmac. Western Ferries were quicker from what I remember and if still operational may be cheaper. They also made crossings in rough weather when Calmac wouldnt. Western Ferries set off a bit outside of Gourock on the road to Inverkip and docked about a mile to the north of Dunoon whereas Calmac went Gourock centre to Dunoon centre if my memory serves me correctly.

It's way quicker than the road.

Much quicker and less stressful than driving. Maybe 20 minute crossing. Did it a few weeks agi on a cracking Sunday and hardly any queuing really. Recommend it. U might even spot killer whales. A pod was spotted in the firth a couple of weeks ago
