Anyone know if it's in condition?

It's normally in nick just after the downfall. Keep your eyes peeled for threads about that (or start your own...)

I thought Mam tor gully was always "in" it's just more pleasant/less dangerous if it's actually frozen.

I have solod it in summer and wished for ice tools, so I think you are right.

I ended up going there to have a look. It's very definitely not in a decent condition for climbing - unless you like scrambling over muddy shale.

Would have thought Back Tor would have been a better bet, more exposed to the wind so less snow likely to have settled from yesterday and be insulating the crud, plus the turf will have been cooled by the wind.
