Looking for a partner(s) for a trip to Kyrgyzstan in July 2026. Planning on spending 4-6 weeks out there, looking at some more remote routes and peaks, up to 6000m.

I'm experienced in alpine climbing in the Alps, Caucuses, and Andes and am looking for anyone with alpine experience who'd be up for a bit of an adventure. If you're interested ping us a whatsapp at +447970703679

Ideally would be hoping to climb a bit in the UK together before heading out lol

Cheers

Toby

While I'm not a fan of alpine nonsense, you should be doing more than a bit of climbing with whoever comes along. 4 weeks with someone you can't stand is brutal - ask anyone I've climbed with.

Kyrgyzstan is a remarkable place and the people are super welcoming.

well yeah that's the plan haha, hence why I'm looking to meet people now nearly a full year in advance to be able to spend enough time around each other to know what the vibes are like

and yeah I was in Kyrgyzstan a couple of years ago, it's a stunning place and the people are definitely the highlight

I found an amazing pace to stay on the shores on Issyk Kul near a place called Kyzyl Suu. It had the best coffee I'd had in years and there was a lakeside sauna box thing. This was pre covid so it's probably gone now but I loved the place.

I love how I got 4 downvotes for suggesting it might be a reasonable idea to spend more time getting to know your climbing partners. People on here can be such plonkers!

You'll have a great time, even if you don't get much climbing done. They call the country the Switzerland of Asia, and with good reason.

When you realize after a week that your partner annoys the f#@k out of you. Even the way they eat starts to get on your nerves.
