just checked my junk folder on my email and discovered a couple of emails from Abbey National, telling me that I must go open my online account or I will be banned off the site.
This is interesting as I do not bank with them and never have. Think this could be a scam.

Yup, a scam. I got one and have been getting them from pretty much every bank, some mispelt!

i'm pretty sure it is, especially as they're not called abbey natonal anymore they're called 'Abbey' owned by the santander group.

In reply to RockAngel: the real irony i discovered with this ages ago is i get the e-mail from Halifax, Abbey, HSBC, Barclays and a few others... but never from the bank i actually use!!!!!! either that or NatWest cant be bothered to e-mail me to tell me there screwing up my account again!

I forwarded a few to Abbey and their phishing department but I keep getting them.

Now I just delete them.

I get 3 or 4 of these every day in my hotmail account. From almost all of the high street banks. Junk them!

i get them all the time from abbey and i don't even have an account with them.

Forward it to the real abbey, and then mark as junk
