I see there are proposals for a marina and hotel to be built on Loch Long, under the shadow of the Cobbler

In reply to Pids: I can't see this taking off. Although Arrochar and the Cobbler are a popular area, the hotels dont do a huge amount of business. As for sailing, if loch long was a good place to sail then you would see a lot of sailing traffic there already.(Never seen a sail on the loch yet) I am not a sailor (bonjour matelot) but I suspect that because the loch is in a pretty narrow valley wind conditions arent really ideal for skimmimng along at speed under full sail. If it does go ahead I would hazard a guess it wont be a huge money spinner ( or spinnaker, lol)..

In reply to toad: Well At least the "Parafin Budgie " from the Rescue will have somewhere to land and take off with the Stretcher Bearers from the Arrochar Mountain Rescue aboard..

In reply to Pids: marina wont work its too far to sail to anywhere and Loch Long gets some great Catabatic winds,not ideal .and there are plenty of marinas on the Clyde..
