I've been with Adrian Flux for ages but there must be some other options out there. Any suggestions?

I’ve used Just Kampers for years. Always a good price, agreed value and efficient the one time I had to make a claim.

In reply to Rik:

Thanks. Unfortunately they were 35% more expensive than AF.

Regardless of which broker you use, don't touch Trinity Lane Insurance with a barge pole, even Nigel Farage is more trustworthy.

We use comfort insurance who seem reasonable given the value of the van and the fact it is parked on the road rather than in a secure compound. Possibly the only one we found who would offer this.

GTE

In reply to G. Tiger, Esq.:

I suppose it depends on your van. If you've got a van worth £50k+ then I can see that being the case. Mine's worth substantially less.

Second for brentacre, insures my self converted van for everything I need it for, super easy to deal with and always give good prices

Also been with Adrian flux and would never ever go near them again regardless of how much cheaper they were

Give us some context about AF.

We use a broker, Lifesure in St Ives. Just re-done our T5 at about £340. They use Axa as the underwriter.

We also use lifesure . . . . . Never had a problem and reasonably priced.

They seemed like alright insurers until I got into a no fault accident and then they were horrendously bad, they’d bounce you around on calls for hours (think the longest I spent was 3 hours trying to give details of my crash) and then in the end just tried to wipe their hands clean of the whole thing and passed it onto a third party claims company who were ever more rubbish

also had a black box on my first policy which had to be replaced 4 times because it was faulty, and they’d threaten to cancel my insurance pretty much weakly when it would fault out

Just my personal experience with Adrian flux, but wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole personally

I had breakdown cover as well as insurance with them and none of the contact numbers worked when I broke down.

We were insured with Just Kampers but changed to Axa through Performance Direct. Reason we changed was the European cover limit with Just Kampers was 30 days per trip (in 2022).
Axa cover up to 270 days in a single trip. We had to claim against the policy after being hit in Spain. Very simple process and no change to premium so no complaints.

I’ve been happy with A-plan, insured as campervan being converted. It's finished as far as I’m concerned but it lacks decals and awning needed for the DVLA to recognise it as a full fledged campervan. The premiums seem reasonable, as does attitude when dealing with on the ‘phone, but I haven’t needed to make any claims.

In reply to Matt Clifton:

Just Kampers are a broker, and this time the best quote they gave me was with AXA. After speaking to them it turns out they are a sister company to Adrian Flux who are also brokers.
