Me, wife and our 2 boys are going to Alton Towers for a day or 2, early July.

My boys and I camp often (never on a campsite, what's the point), whereas Mrs McFarlane likes a wash and toilets. Can anyone recommend a cheap campsite (or sites) driving down the M6 enroute to Alton Towers?

In reply to Stuart the postie: Not sure if its in the right direction for yourself but I have camped in uttoxeter race course when going to alton towers. Not too many pitches there so its pretty quiet (unless its a race day!) and part of the camping/caravan club. Could be a cool thing for the kids to say that they have camped in the middle of a horse racing course rather than just a camp site. Just make sure that its not race days when you are there as you wont be able to get in or out of the course.
