Tories bit is a guess. I don't think that Toriau is strictly Welsh.

A bit strange..

depending on the way its said, it says:

"welcome. How do small cuts look?"
and
"Welcome, How are small cuts looking?"

both sentences are written the same way.

"Toriau" could also refer to "Tories" instead of cuts. But I doubt it.
Make any sense??

I don't think that 'toriau' is a real word in Welsh coz I've never heard it before. I was just guessing waht it meant and i looked it up on an online dictionary and it said it doesnt exist. Are you sure you've got the right word/spelling?

Seemingly that word does exist according to Spurrells English-Welsh dictionary of 1937. Never mind this on line rubbish.
Cut, cutting, incision, break, the au making it plural I think. So it may well translate as Welcome, and how are you little cuts.
Odd but there you are. Maybe the grammer is not quite correct. There must be a Welsh speaking climber out there who could come up with something better.
This is just too sad for a Saturday night.
