Can anyone recommend a Sheffield garage that can do body work?

Looking for a half way reasonable job that will give us several more years life out of it, as the engine is still sound.

Shaw Motors, Loxley Road, Hillsborough did a great job on our van at reasonable cost

Have been around for many years and come highly recommended despite the very unassuming forecourt.

I went to John bee. They said the job would cost more than the car £1000+.

Went to Snuff Mill behind Tesco on Ecclesall road. £300.

That's the problem we're having. 14 years old and the model has a reputation for rusting, so we're being told its going to cost more than its worth to fix.

But we've had our since new and it's also got a reputation for having a really good engine, so financially (and environmentally) we would prefer to try and keep it on the road for a few more years rather than send it to a scrap yard. Only issues we've ever had are the usual things you get with any vehicle, plus the rust.

Is it cosmetic? If so could you just leave it?

Bit of both, passed the last MOT with an advisory.

I guess if you know the car's history and how well you've looked after it, it's 'less of a punt' to have the body work repaired.

From too many years running cars/vans that should have long since been retired, I would recommend Rydals Garage on Broadfield Road - top quality bodywork at very fair prices.  He may be too busy though!  At the other end of the scale is Richard on 07717 487743 (near the Sheaf). Welding style bodywork - structurally sounds, finish will do, very cheap and honest, a rare combo!
