Can anyone recommend a domain and email forwarder company ? I'm only looking for a simple low cost email address with the domain of my choice and maybe webmail.

I was looking at 123 (pipex)but thought I should check with the oracle that is "down the pub" first.

Cheers Steve

uk2.net is good. Domains are cheap and they also do free webmail which is semi reasonable (squirrelmail based)

In reply to miltenpoint: compila.com - from £14/year for domain, hosting and email.

I did uk2.net. It's okay - not brilliant but does the job. If you want specific forwarding (ie multiple addresses, not just [email protected]) then it costs more.

Actually I get a lot of junk mail to the forwarded address because I don't pay the extra to only forward specific addresses, if you get what I mean.

You get a number of free forwarding rules from uk2 now. You can also point the domain at your own dns servers if you want. Very useful for setting up real domains on your home broadband connection.

In reply to miltenpoint: Thanks - its the things like spam and junk I want to avoid.

Can anyone answer this ?

If I set up forwarding, I how can I reply to forwarded emails to my domain with the domain shown as the return address (rather than my main email add). I don't want to change my account setting and was thinking maybe I should use outlook and an old aol address ?

Yeah, I used to have my domain hosted on my mate's server and that was cool. But since it's reverted, I get a whole load of junk mail. The problem is that my full name has elements of Chinese so I get a lot of Chinese junk mail. At least I don't have to read it!

Oh and I haven't checked uk2 for ages now so it probably has changed. I think when I get round to it I will pay the extra. Nobody really uses that address any more, but I just keep it because it doesn't cost much!

In reply to miltenpoint:
on uk2 you can set the reply to address to be the domain address. But you have to use their mail (which is basic).

Dunno about others as I just use work ones.

Pete, can you help with that?

In reply to Nao: Cheers Nao, appreciate the help

In reply to miltenpoint: On compila you can set up multiple mail boxes (all of which can be accessed over the net) so you can reply from the address it came to (BTW you can still have all the mailboxes forwarded to one as well). You might have to choose the £20/year package for multiple mailboxes.

In reply to Nao:

You can set your reply address to anything you want. My setup is actually a bunch of uk2.net domains all forwarding to my gmail account. You can setup gmail to use a different from address as long as you get email for that address - it sends a confirmation email. then you get to use gmail for everything. I'd prefer something with different filters though as gmails a real pain if your on any high volume mailing lists.
