Yes, Chris 'Failing' Grayling 'closes in on role' as Chair of the Parliamentary Intelligence and Security Committee. Cue articles on the death of irony etc...

As Marina Hyde says, "Closing in suggests a degree of targeted precision that Chris Grayling’s career does not.":

Bet that news makes you feel more secure! But never mind, it’s all going to be okay because Boris Johnson is going to take more direct control of the NHS:

[Edit: I notice there is already a thread on this joyful prospect.]

I only know about the NHS stuff but the thought of yet another organisational change makes me so fu++ed off...I'm close to taking early retirement and hearing this may well influence my decision. Its bad as in my area there are nowhere near e.ough experienced people like me, time needs to be served if quality is to be maintained but at 55 I am like a dinosaur these days and not 'on script'!

That's a shame to hear abr. I was hoping to inject a little bit of dark humour into the current sh*tshow but that's a reminder that it's really not that funny. Lives are being changed, distorted and ended.

Please, no... I couldn't stand it!

For Grayling clearly he has some knowledge of the profession in particular honeytraps/some other for of blackmail material gathering. Its the only explanation for him continuing to get senior jobs.

This article suggests that making himself unsackable is his one major talent, that in pure political survival terms he's actually a smart operator:
