I recently made an online purchase with Mammut but it wasn't  delivered.When contacted Mammut said basically, we've  done  our bit contact the delivery company. 

Can anyone please tell me where I stand on this. I thought my contract would  be with Mammut not the delivery company.

Your contract is with Mammut, but you will need to contact the delivery company to check where the package is. Who is the company?  I’ve had a few nightmares recently, but things did get sorted. 

Surely as Mammut commissioned the delivery company, the responsibility to chase them is theirs not the OP's?

You don't have to. I've had this before with a package that was taking forever and I just couldn't be bothered fighting for. I cancelled the order and bought somewhere else, and then when the cancelled one did eventually show up I refused the delivery so it automatically got returned to sender.

Obviously punching in a tracking number is easy, but any problems are mammut's problems, not yours.

100% it is the company you ordered the goods from that is responsible for the goods being delivered. Your contract is with Mammut not the courier.

Did you order from Mammut in the UK, or Europe...?

A company called Seventeen.They say it has been delivered but they seem to have a poor record.

Never heard of seventeen. Other posters are correct that this is Mammut’s issue, not yours. 
 

Let us know how this gets resolved. Meantime you’ve put me off ordering online from Mammut, (I am quite a fan of their kit).

So you didn't actually buy from Mammut?

It's the retailer you need to put pressure on to resolve this, that's who your contract of sale is with not the manufacturer.

I took it that seventeen is the courier employed by Mammut.

I don’t believe that Seventeen is actually a courier company. I understand it is a website that can track parcels across multiple courier firms. A quick google confirms this.
