RIP to the man who provided the images to brighten and inspire my youth.

Wow, quite a gallery of very iconic images. I'd forgotten about him, and I'd no idea the cover of Raw Power, one of my favourite albums, was his.

Interested to see he graduated from Cambridge with a degree in languages. I'd always assumed he was a rock'n'roll hedonist who happened to have a talent for photography. Still working until recently too.

RIP indeed. 

The news reports fill in more than I had known, such as the "last supper" photograph: But then I am slightly young to fully resonate with his images that first got him started on a great photographic career.
