Can anyone recommend any good cheap (or free) fireworks displays in the West of Sheffield? Maybe at a pub? Don't really want to travel all the way to Don Valley and get fleeced by the council.
PD. The climb from the bergshrund up onto the ridge was the crux - quite icy for a PD, but 2003 was quite a dry icy year.

The top of Meersbrook park was good last year, could see the fireworks all over the city - and someone was giving out free parkin.
I'm a cheapskate - we usually go and sit at 'the edge of the world' near Stannington Ruffs and watch the rest of the citys fireworks - it's an amazing view from up there - Sheffield almost looks beautiful....
Norfolk Arms IS usually a good one (the one out toward Burbage, do you mean?) it's just a bit of a trek.

In reply to TN: I've got two tickets to the After Dark thing at Don Valley if anyone wants them - apparently it's gates/funfair open 5.30, bonfire 7.30 fireworks at 8.30.
Email me if interested and we'll arrange ticket handover
In reply to Cornish Merlin:
Chelsea Park in Nether Edge has a really good atmosphere and the local scouts run the fireworks bit. Donations welcome to pay for them. Think it starts around 6.30
