These where November 2012 in Moss Side. A mega flock. They would arrive in groups of 20 or 30, have a feed and then rotate. 

It was a dull day, not the best light. But they are a stunning bird, and allow good views. 

This was 2015 in Scholes in Wigan.

You lucky man! What a treat! Last saw a flock on a rowan tree in Morrison's car park in Kendal about 5 years back.

Might be teaching you to suck eggs here so usual apology/caveat. 

I'm in a few local bird groups on Twitter/Facebook that are great for getting the lowdown on recent sightings and locations.

Bit trickier this year but some of the posters are absolute fanatics and just like Mick, they take some excellent pictures to live vicariously by.

Great pics, a few years back I crept up to a small flock sat resting in a tree, as I got close enough to photo I disturbed a pheasant which exploded upward on tbe usual manner and scared them all away. Not seen any since!
