Hi all,

Maybe this should be in the culture forum, but we're looking for a band for our wedding in June next year in Perthshire.

We want a ceilidh band, perhaps also able to do a set list of requests. Not really sure of budget yet. There are tons of bands online, but the choice is a bit overwhelming. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Any suggestions?

Thanks, I think I've seen that name before. Will check them out.

I know a really nice lady who plays with a small band called Muckle Flugga. I've only heard her play fiddle solo but she's good and I'm sure the rest of the band will be up to scratch.

These guys were great both times I’ve been at functions. Best band I’ve seen do weddings!

Actually we've shunned tradition and made our own out of wood. Look rather nice.

But not quite the band I was looking for.

If it were not Perthshire you could have an Edinburgh tattoo.

This pun needs a lot of work, I think. Demolition and disposal work, probably.

Thanks for that. I always wondered what the connection was between the two versions of the  word  and have just learned that there is absolutely none at all.

A couple of friends play in this band. I've been to few of their ceilidhs, always brilliant.

Very good and very organised/professional when they did our wedding.

Good raucous electric ceilidh fusion band, if they’re still going - Bahooki   (only why would you call your band arse?). Apparently mostly RSAMD staff and they covered a great mix of ethnic and contemporary, managed to get everyone on the floor most of the time at a wedding I was at.
