I am looking to replace my Epson Pro 3800  A2 printer after over 12 years of trouble free operation.

Keen to know if anyone has owned the following pro printers for a decent length of time  and interested in the quality and reliability they have experienced.

Epson SureColor SC-P700 (concerned by some poor reviews on Wex)

Epson SureColor SC-P900

I have the pro 300. The quality is exceptional - on fine art matte paper. Ink is pricey and cartridges run out faster than the likes of the pro 1000. That and getting to A2 is the compromise there. For me, it's worth it as I'm mainly printing for myself and the pro 300 is compact enough to be manageable in a small home office.

Should add. I've had it about 2 years with no issues. Probably made 60+ prints on it. I think the main decision between this and the 1000 is how much space you have and how often you print (ink capacity). The quality difference will likely be non existent in real terms at A3+ and below.

I have the Epsom 900sc and have been extremely pleased with the quality, also   it is good for panoramic prints which was a weak point for my previous canon.

Thanks Jethro. Useful to know as that's the one that replaces mine.

Did you not get those messages I sent you?

In reply to Mike Hutton: I have the Canon Pro 300 and love it. The inks are pricy, circa £145 for the full set of 10 originals but they seem to last pretty well - I have probably done about 25 A3 prints and 15 A4 and only replaced 3 to date. I love printing my images and the ability to tweak the print as it is a bit of a dark art!

How long have you owned it for

In reply to Mike Hutton:

Just under a year, I don’t print much during the summer so i’ll be hitting a load more printing over the next few months. High initial cost with the ink but the larger cartridges are better value. There are third party options for ink but I’m sticking with the epsom ink for now.
