Can the weather be too good for photographs?

Anyone in Snowdonia last weekend struck it lucky - the weather was gorgeous for being outdoors.

Difficult for photographs though!

A short blog about it and some photos here;

In reply to Colin Henderson: yes. I was there last week and I know what you mean. Unfortunately warm hazy afternoons make for poor quality landscape photos for novices such as myself. Probably why people stick religiously to the Golden Hour rule.

In reply to Colin Henderson: that said your photos have turned out nicely.
In reply to Colin Henderson: Tell me about it. Living in Australia etc....

A polarising filter would have been a help, do you think?

In reply to Colin Henderson:

Very nice pictures, what gear did you use for these pictures?

Did you use a on camera flash or a speed light for fill or did you use a reflector?
Thanks @myth - I do like them.

@Jonay - I carried a speedlight and a reflector. I was out with friends though and I'm conscious I take advantage of them enough without getting them to act as 'voice-activated light stands' too so they were mainly available light and shot on the go.

@stroppygob - Filters would have helped. Definitely a graduated filter. I find I do that mostly in Lightroom though when processing the Raw file.
In reply to Colin Henderson: Some good action shots there Colin but it's been bad for landscapes here in Snowdonia...it's been a frustrating few weeks for me!
In reply to Nicholas Livesey:

Cheers, Nicholas. Sure the weather will come back for you

Don't be a slave to the Golden Hour rule. Break it.
