Sorry if hat has been covered before but couldn't see much about compact system cameras on here.

Thinking about getting a good camera for outdoors, was thinking of a dslr. But have recently seen that nikon1 has a new csc aw1 version which is waterproof and shock proof. Though limited lens at the moment. But can take standard lens, for traditional, (not in water) shots
Has anyone used csc cameras? Pro and cons?

The reason for a dslr, was the choice of changing lens to capture close work, and the nice longs shots for mid route, or when in the middle of a river when kayaking.

Any advice would be great thanks

Many of the discussions revolve around the Fuji models as I remember. I didn't find anything searching "Olympus" in the forum but seem to remember quite a few discussions on Olympus CSCs as well.

There is quite a Fuji-X cult following on UKC - and rightly so.

As others imply, try searching for the model or brand of camera you are interested in: Sony, Fuji, and 'Oly', perhaps rather than Olympus, etc.

You need to read www.sansmirror.com , there's loads of info on there. Essentially the competition is fierce, so you simply have to decide on your sensor format because that determines lens size. Personally, I have an olympus E-M5 and really like it.
