•Masterclass sessions with Libby Peter and Mark 'Zippy' Pretty. If you're looking to improve your climbing ability and knowledge, why not book onto a Masterclass with one of our top climbers? 1.5 hour sessions with either Libby or Mark are £23 for advance booking or £25 on the day, and will run at 10:30am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm and 4:30pm. Advance booking is recommended to secure a place - please phone the centre on 01908 583 128.
DMM sponsored Libby Peter has been climbing for 25 years and is a qualified Mountaineering Instructor and International Mountain Guide and also the author of Rock Climbing - Essential Skills and Techniques.
Mark Pretty (aka Zippy) is a renowned performance coach, is the current GB Junior Team Coach and has climbed up to F8c.
•Evolv and Boreal Climbing Shoe testing. Get the low down on the technical features and benefits of the latest climbing shoes! We'll have loads of shoes in multiple sizes to test out and Evolv and Boreal representatives will be on hand throughout the day to offer expert fitting advice and technical guidance.
•Climbing Competitions. Test your skills on our fun competition routes! With routes for the adults and a youth mini comp too, all ages can get involved with plenty of spot prizes up for grabs!
The top roping competition will start at 1:00pm with 5 fun prizes up for grabs on each of the 2 routes.
The youth comp will start at 1:00pm with last entry at 3:30pm and a prize giving ceremony at 4:00pm. We'll have 4 routes for the youngsters to try with separate categories based on age: Youth A - born in 1995 & 1996, Youth B - born in 1997 & 1998, Youth C - born in 1999 & 2000, Youth D - born in 2001 & 2002, Youth E - those born in 2003 & 2004
We'll also have 2 identical speed climbing routes, side by side with a timer allowing you to race against your friends or other climbers!
•Winter Bouldering Aggregate starts. It's back... our infamous Winter Bouldering Aggregate will start on 29th September and will be running throughout the winter months until the end of March 2013. Get started early this year with the added incentive of a bonus prize available for the highest score achieved during the birthday event!
•BBQ. All the exciting climbing activity is bound to work up an appetite... luckily you can tuck into some delicious barbequed food, available between 11:00am and 3:00pm.
