In the early hours of 6 February, Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out to assist someone camping on Red Screes above Kirkstone Pass.
Whilst the Team was making its way to the casualty, Chris Lewis, an experienced team member, fell 150 metres down a steep slope, sustaining life-changing injuries.
I've donated and was gobsmacked to see the total was over £800k. However, that is probably a drop in the ocean in view of the likely costs and time involved. What an absolute, avoidable tragedy.
