Youth Plywood Masters is back this weekend and is set to be bigger and better than ever!
Youth Plywood Masters was first introduced to create an opportunity for climbers, who are too young to compete in the Senior Plywood Masters event, to experience the unique fun, friendly and challenging atmosphere; where those new to formal competitions get to complete against some of the top youth climbers in the U.K.
Under 13s and Under 17s categories will compete on Saturday 2 August, with Under 15s and Under 19s Sunday 3 August, with separate boulder problems for girls and boys. All competitors will get a limited edition Youth Plywood Masters 2025 t-shirt.
During the qualifying round, climbers will get a maximum of 5 attempts to complete each of the 10 blocs. The top 4-10 boys* and top 4-10 girls* from each category will then progress through to the finals. The final for each category will be run in the same format as a final in a European Youth Bouldering competition.
This year, the setting team is headed-up by Dave Barrans and will also include national-level setters Alex Fry, Nathan Phillips and Alice Thompson.
