A recent revision to the plans of the refurbishment of May Cottage, Pembroke, shows that a television is to be installed.

As a misanthropic TV addict I welcome this but it will change the dynamic a good deal. On first sight it seemed silly and pointless but regulars should see the benefits. Life in the hut is pretty boring for much of the time; few people get in the car and go to the pub; most sit round and have the same conversation time and time again. Let MoTD replace aimlessly flicking through the guidebooks and the hut log scowling at the addition of yet another V Diff at Range East.

Please don't steal it or try to hide it behind the toilet rolls in the cupboard. I will find it.

Have to admit to not taking mutch notice of the plans and haven't been to May Cottage for a year or more - how easy will it be to escape the TV ?

Wonderful: I look forward to 50" Plasma, HD, 3D TVs c/w with Skyboxes in every hut, and why not install those little sets you get on aeroplanes on every bunk? Need never go outside again.
