American here. Not certain it is the same Chris Massey, but I climbed with a Brit with that name in Yosemite in 1987 (I think that was the year) along with another Brit friend of mine named John Gill. Chris was a great guy, very funny. After Yosemite he was going to Alaska. I was very saddened to read several months later that he had died on Denali.
hi Phil - Chris (CAHM) was a very good friend of mine and he and his companions died on the Cassin ridge in 1989 i'm afraid. he left a big gap both at Reading Mountaineering Club where i met him and at the Lakes scene where he was very popular too. Pete
