I had this operation about 8 months ago. I haven't been climbing for a few years, but I do cycle.
It would help if you let your bone heal, or you might cause extra damage. I had to wear a "Cricket bat pad" for a couple of weeks to stop me from bending the joint too much. I managed to get back on the bike after about four weeks, but was extra careful not to fall off! Make sure you do all the physio exercises so you can regain mobility. Concentrate on your quads as these can lose their strength quite quickly.
My bone had healed when I had my six-month review. Just be extra careful you don't fall onto your leg or jump off and land on it..
