Hi everyone, I am looking into starting Trad and wanting to find someone close enough to Nottinghamshire.

I am a competent scrambler and do some indoor bouldering and climbing.

if anyone has any information, that would be great.

Have a look for local clubs via the BMC website. 

The Ready to Rock course is good value for a one day taste of rock and being a competent second - assuming you can already belay.

The Oread Mountaineering Club is based around the Nottingham/ Derby/ Matlock areas and has an active meets programme with lots of friendly members who are competent at the various climbing/ mountaineering disciplines. They don't formally teach people, however I've led peope up plenty of routes and held their ropes on their first leads while giving advice about how to do things and explaining stuff, likewise there are plenty of other members who do this too.

Where abouts in Notts you based?
