Very sorry to have to post this. My heart goes out to all of his family and friends.

AFAIK, Chris and Ben were attempting a new route when diaster struck. http://www.thisiscornwall.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=144125&command=d...

"It is not yet clear whether there will be an inquest, but his family hope the funeral will be held at the end of next week and say any friends of Chris's are welcome.

Chris's family have requested that instead of flowers, donations are made to the charity Get Kids Going, for which Chris was raising money."

That's awful. Full credit to ben for his gutsy attempt to save his mate, I don't think anyone could have done more.

Have just been told of this via C Tans e-mail a few minutes ago. My heart sank because my ex is out there.

Condolences to all who were close to Chris. From the times I met him I know he was a great chap and will be missed lots.
