Someone managed to video the rockfall in Vivian, interesting viewing. Hope the link works, it’s on the National Slate Museum twitter site.

Looks like they started filming after some of the rockfall had already happened.  Very interesting that it must have come down in at least 3 distinct portions. Yikes.

What are the chances of that being filmed? Are we sure he didn't have a mate at the top with a crow bar?

I think he heard the initial tinkling of small rockfalls and knew that a big one was coming. he works at the slate museum so is probably knowledgeable enough to know what those few small rocks coming down meant.

Amazing stuff.  It's just a shame he wasn't also knowledgeable about the evils of vertical video.

There's similar footage of a large fall at Portland, near the Tout Quarry, IIRC.

Given the aspect ratio of the scene, portrait seems to be perfectly good...
