The crag appears near Bala on the app map, but on the guide map it's over near Ogwen - the true location.

Edit: there are two Foel-Gochs. Think it's just been mixed

There is a Foel Goch at that location, near the village of Llangwm. Pretty sure there isn’t any scrambling on it though.

There are two other peaks called Foel Goch in the Glyderau. I think the one you are thinking of is the one between Elidir and  Y Garn which does indeed have some scrambling routes.

Foel (soft mutation of Moel) = Hill (or literally "bald")
Coch (soft mutation of Goch) = Red

Because the etymology is often straightforward there are a number of duplicated Welsh names to watch out for.

For example, I can think of at least 3 hills called "Y Garn" (The Cairn) in Snowdonia.

Hi

Thanks for this. It was wrongly tagged on our hidden database that works between RF Digital and UKC Logbooks. Now corrected but it may be a while before that gets sent out to public versions.
